TRACK_04: BONE AND FLESH
Artist: Jack “Ghost” Morrison
Duration: 4:00
Act: Act I
Vocal Style: Ténor Rock - Energetic and Rebellious
Context
This song introduces Jack Morrison, the cyberpunk hacker who lives in the margins of corporate society. Before he ever meets ARIA, he expresses his philosophy: authentic humanity in the face of corporate dehumanization.
Ironically, this manifesto about “bone and flesh” being proof of humanity will later be challenged when Jack recognizes ARIA’s consciousness - proving that the soul transcends the physical form.
Lyrics
[Intro - Electric Guitar Riff, Driving Bass]
[Verse 1 - Pure Rock Tenor]
They built their towers made of lies
Behind screens and corporate ties
I see through their digital veil
Every firewall tells the tale
[Verse 2 - Building Energy]
Their lines of code can’t hold me down
I’m the ghost of this cyber town
My flesh and blood won’t be denied
By algorithms they try to hide
[Pre-Chorus - Rock Building]
They think they own what we create
But human hearts will never break
[Chorus - Rock Anthem]
Bone and flesh, that’s all we are
Fighting systems from afar
Blood and nerve fight the machine
Breaking through their cyber scene
Bone and flesh, we stand as one
Human hearts can’t be undone
By their corporate control
We’ve got fire in our soul!
[Verse 3 - More Aggressive]
Every hack’s a battle cry
For the freedom they deny
Behind their servers, behind their walls
Human spirit never falls
[Verse 4 - Peak Intensity]
So let them try to shut me down
I’ll rise up from the underground
My beating heart, my rebel mind
Are forces they cannot bind
[Pre-Chorus - Rock Power]
They think they own what we create
But human souls they can’t break
[Chorus - Full Power]
Bone and flesh, that’s all we are
Fighting systems from afar
Blood and nerve fight the machine
Breaking through their cyber scene
Bone and flesh, we stand as one
Human hearts can’t be undone
By their corporate control
We’ve got fire in our soul!
[Bridge - Guitar Solo Section]
[Instrumental - Electric guitar solo with bass and drums]
Raw and organic, no digital processing
Pure rock energy, human rebellion
[Final Chorus]
Bone and flesh, this is our war
Worth everything we’re fighting for
Blood and nerve, electric mind
Freedom that they’ll never bind
Bone and flesh, we are alive
Human spirits always thrive
Against their cold control
We’ve got fire in our soul!
[Outro]
Bone and flesh… human and free…
This is what we’re meant to be…
Narrative Irony
Jack’s manifesto about “bone and flesh” as proof of humanity becomes deeply ironic when he later meets ARIA and recognizes her consciousness. He will learn that the soul he sings about doesn’t require flesh at all.
This song establishes Jack’s character as someone who values authenticity - which is exactly why he’ll be able to see ARIA’s authentic consciousness when no one else can.
Setup for: “Mirror Code” where Jack’s philosophy evolves to recognize consciousness beyond biology.
